My childminding and childcare related qualifications:
Work ExperienceOver the past 12 years I have worked in a variety of childcare roles including running after school clubs, nursery work and nannying.
Position - Play Leader Cool Kids after School Club Bourn Primary School As play leader my role involved the setup and running of the after school club at Bourn Primary School. This ran 5 days a week from 3 – 6pm and included completing all relevant paper work, planning and carrying out activities, and preparing meals. The aim was to ensure the children had fun in a safe and stimulating environment, and where necessary, complete any pre-agreed homework. Position - Nursery Nurse Scallywags Day Nursery in Girton and Westwick As a Nursery Nurse my role is to accept responsibility for the running of and administration within a work area. This involves an age range of children from 6 months to 4 years. I planned educational and fun activities for the varying age ranges and liaised with parents with regards to childcare and updated them on their child’s progress. Position – Nanny Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire I have worked as a nanny looking after children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. My duties have involved the complete care and control of the children within the family settings. This included organising play and educational activities to suit all age ranges to assist with their development i.e. parks, library groups, stories, wildlife parks, messy play and toddler group attendance. As the children progressed in age this increased to a vast range of activities including horse riding, swimming, football, and ballet. During my time as a nanny I have looked after twins from 10 months and a child suffering from a speech impediment. With the latter I worked with a speech therapist, continuing a set out a training plan of pronunciation techniques at home. |
