Pet Policy

 

I believe children can learn a lot from being in contact with pets. In my setting the children will have contact with animals. However steps will be taken to ensure their safety:

  • Children will be encouraged to treat all animals with respect and learn how to handle them correctly.
  • Children will not be left unsupervised with any animal.
  • Children will wash their hands after every contact and understand why.
  • Children must learn not all animals are friendly and you should always check with the owner before approaching the animal.
  • Food will be stored away from the children’s reach.
  • A high standard of hygiene must be followed, with careful thought to placing the feeding bowls.
  • The garden is checked every morning before the children play outside.
