Equal Opportunities Policy I give all the children in my care the opportunity to reach their full potential. I will adapt an activity to match a child’s ability and stage of development, also provide extra resources or give a child more attention than others during a particular activity or routine. All children in my care have the opportunity to play with all toys (subject to health and safety with children under three years old). No toys are just for boys or girls. I try to make sure my toys reflect positive images of children and people with different abilities. No child will be discriminated against in anyway, whatever their culture, gender, religion, skin colour or ability. I will challenge remakes I feel inappropriate. Children in my care are encouraged to learn about their own culture and others. This is done in a fun way, though books, colouring sheets, cooking and eating food from different countries and celebrating special festivals. I encourage children to develop a healthy respect of others differences and value everyone as an individual. I encourage parents to share any festival or special occasions with me. If you have any concerns regarding this policy please let me know.
